Halyard’s investment philosophy is to take a pragmatic, relative-value approach to fixed income investing. This conservative methodology is applied to all fixed income securities and the various sub-asset classes that demonstrate mean-reverting tendencies over time. This varies significantly from the passively managed style employed by most managers.
Halyard Asset Management is an SEC-Registered Investment Advisor with the mandate of managing fixed income assets. Our actively managed approach strives to structure portfolios to maximize return and preserve capital in both rising and falling interest rate environments.
Halyard’s founders have over 60 years of combined fixed income industry experience that spans multiple decades, encompassing numerous interest rate cycles and a Separately Managed Account track-record dating back to 2010.
We manage approximately $1.34 Billion in fixed income assets (as of 12/31/23) across a diversified client base consisting of High Net Worth Individuals, Family Offices, Pensions, and Institutions
Cash Management, Reimagined
The Reserve Cash Management (“RCM”) strategy was started by Halyard’s Principals during the IPO dot-com era of the late 1990’s as a way to help Technology and Internet entrepreneurs manage their newly realized wealth. The philosophy to maximize after tax total return on their cash, while simultaneously emphasizing capital preservation and income became extremely popular among these newly minted high net worth individuals. Taking an actively managed approach to cash assets may result in added value over the long term.
Over 30 years later, the principles guiding the RCM strategy have not changed and are even more important during this current time of market uncertainty and low interest rates. RCM may serve as a core cash balance or as a temporary strategy prior to building out a longer term investment allocation in other asset classes for family offices, institutions, and HNW individuals.
